It all begins with an idea.

Online Mixing & Mastering Requirements

What Are Stems?

Stems are the individual pieces of your song, like:

  • Lead vocals

  • Background vocals

  • Drums

  • Bass

  • Instruments

Each one gets sent as its own audio file, so the producer can mix them properly.

How to Send Your Stems (Step by Step)

1. Label Your Tracks

Make sure every track in your session is named clearly (like “Lead Vocal” or “Kick Drum”).

2. Export Each Track

In your recording program (DAW), export each stem as a WAV file (not MP3).

  • Every file should start from 0:00, even if there’s silence at the beginning.

  • Use settings like 24-bit / 44.1kHz if you’re not sure.

3. Organize Your Files

Put all your stems into one folder.
Name the folder something like:
YourName_SongTitle_Stems

Also include a rough version of your full song (an MP3), so the producer knows how it’s supposed to sound.

4. Zip the Folder

Right-click the folder and select “Compress” or “Zip”. This makes it easier to send.
